April 28, 1901
Dear Everitt and Sallie,
It is my sad office to tell you we have had to give up our Dear little George to the grim messenger of death. He breathed his last at 3 oclock this afternoon. He took cold which with the whooping cough brought on severe bronchitis last Tuesday night which developed into pneumonia and (the rest of this paragraph is torn away).
Funeral Tuesday afernoon at 2:30 oclock. We would be pleased to have you with us at the funeral.
