OBITUARY:
VILLIER "VINNY" BAYE JR., 77, of HAZLET, died Wednesday at home. He proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of faithful service. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 23, Keyport; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4247, Keyport, and a volunteer for Deborah Hospital Central Jersey Chapter. He loved his family and country. He was born in New Orleans.
His wife, Carol L. Baye, died in 1997. Surviving are two daughters and 4 grandsons.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bedle Funeral Home, 61 Broad St., Keyport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Interment will be in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

Villier married Carol Laura Hetzel, daughter of Raymond Martin Hetzel and Gladys Irene Raub. (Carol Laura Hetzel was born about 1928 18 and died in 1997 424.)
