William C. Schraft

  General Notes:

In a letter dated Sept. 5, 1912, to "Aunt Elizabeth" (Lizzie Raub Mott), Olive Hill's return address was 534 Hunterdon Street, Newark, NJ.

In a letter dated June 1, 1913, to "Dear Grandparents" (Erastus and Macrina Raub), Olive writes, "Last night we called on Grandma Schraft and she was very pleased to Grace & I." She also writes, "William has been building a pretty little fence between our grass plot and garden." In a letter dated Feb 12, 1918, to Aunt Elizabeth, she writes, Last Wednesday night "Will" attended a ........ dinner...brought me home three of the American Beauty Roses in the table decorations......"

In the 1910 Federal Census, William Schraft was living with his parents, Christian and Caroline Schraft, and his brother Charles, at 534 Hunterdon Street (where Grace lived when first married). He was a bookkeeper in a bakery office.

In the 1920 Federal Census, William Schraft was living on North 22nd Street in East Orange, NJ, with his wife Florence, aged 22, and his daughter Grace.

In the 1930 Federal Census, William Schraft was living in Florida with his wife, Florence, aged 32, his daughter Grace, aged 19, and with his son, William C., aged 9.

William married Olive Hill, daughter of John A. Hill and Mary Catharine Raub. (Olive Hill was born in Jun 1885 ¹²⁵.)

William next married Florence --------- after 12 Feb 1818. (Florence --------- was born about 1898 ⁵⁰⁷.)
